This comparison struck me today.
Mike and I drove to USC to have breakfast with Elliot this morning. When we left the house, my mother-in-law also went out at the same time. She wanted to walk to the swapmeet at the high school a little over a mile away. We drove about 35 miles to USC, had breakfast with Elliot at the Intervarsity Trojan Christian Fellowship group, and drove 35 miles back. We got home within a minute of my mother-in-law.
Mike and I traveled all the way across the city. We talked to a lot of new people, saw the crowds at USC going to a popular football game (we didn’t go, but Elliot did) in a big city. My mother-in-law only got 1 mile away from home, walked around the swapmeet at the parking lot of a high school and bought 2 pineapples and plums.
It seemed like it should have taken more time for us to accomplish all that we did at such a distance then for my mother-in-law to do what she did.
I don’t know why, but that just struck me as interesting.
Can you help me analyze why something is not right about that?

I am sure there are many quotes you could choose from, and that is a good one.
