*Every year, I try to get my siblings’ families to play games when we have get-togethers, resulting in little enthusiasm, and then they always have to leave soon after dinner. This year, 4 (strapping, handsome, available…) guys from church joined us, and we played games!! I love having people stay late to play wholesome games and chat together.
*Rented the dvd “Cars”. It is SO good! The characters are SO cute, there was suspense, romance, and good morals too. Two Thumbs and big toes up!
*Went to see “Happy Feet” with Amy and her friends. The penguins were cute, and sometimes even indistinguishable from real penguims (from far away). The music was great and brought tears to my eyes. But I am honestly tired of the theme of “accept those who are different” and the ostracized one always turns out to be right in the end while the traditionalists goes out in shame. How about making a movie where the outcast was actually wrong and he comes back to apologize to the group?
*Went bowling with Amy’s friends. I supervised and made sure they didn’t hurt themselves. I’ve never seen a bowling ball ricochet some many times off the bumpers. 🙂
*Enjoyed having Elliot home and stayed up to talk to him at midnight, when he is most awake and I was barely able to keep my eyes open. But you have to catch the moments when conversation flows, so I didn’t mind the lost sleep.
*I taught myself in my own Sunday School lesson to give thanks to God, not only for his earthly blessings such as family, health, and creature comforts, but to give thanks for the greatest gift of all – our salvation in Jesus Christ. One day, we will all face that end, when all that will matter is where we will spend eternity. Thank you, Jesus, for the hope of eternal life with You.
