We gave away three baby hamsters, we should have three left.
Yet we can only find two in the cage. Count them again, and we still see only two baby hamsters.
Maybe we gave one to someone and forgot who it was…maybe we gave two to that lady instead of one…maybe one is dead…
Then a light bulb turned on Amy – she said she’s been hearing scratching noises under the couch the last couple of days. She didn’t think anything of it, until now…could it be? Could the baby hamster have escaped??
We flipped the couch over, with the aid of a flashlight, there was the tiny hamster hiding in the woodwork of the couch.
If he had been in his cage, we would’ve given him away to the nice family who answered our ad for free hamsters. Since he’s shown himself to be such a courageous and ingenious little animal, we will keep him!
We had 12 baby hamsters. With the help of a PennySaver ad and friends, we have found homes for all of them, except this one. We decided to name him (or her, we can’t tell) BLT. It stands for Brave Little Toaster. If you’ve never seen the cartoon The Brave Little Toaster, I highly recommend this heartwarming movie. It’s an oldie, but Netflix or Blockbuster should still have it.
