Can you make a living with blogging?
I came across Blogsvertise on a forum that talked about working from home. The first attraction on the Blogsvertise website was their first line – “Earn cash and generate extra income from your blog!’ That sounded pretty good to me. The panel of pictures of featured bloggers also caught my eye. It breaks up the monotony of printed words and shows a sense that real people are involved.
The obvious questions that came next were: how much money can I really make? What do I have to do? How do I get paid? All these questions are answered in the FAQ section. I was quite satisfied with the clearly explained answers and decided to give it a try. There is no penalty, no fee, and no experienced required. All you need is a blog.
After the registration process, I was sent an auto-respond email to confirm my registration. But before I can be approved as a blogger, I have to write an entry about Blogsvertise to make sure I know the rules. I suppose it’s a way of seeing a sample of my writing plus some free advertising for Blogsvertise – very smart!
This is my first experience in blogging for dollars. If it works out, I’ll certainly post more about this.

Interesting site. I actually been doing a lot of research in internet marketing this winter break. Here are a few of my thoughts.
1) Network with other bloggers. This is probably the fastest way to increase your traffic and publicity. This include talking to new, old, popular, and unpopular bloggers. Commenting on site is almost a reciprocal thing nowadays.
2) Consider guest posting. Take your best content (esp your advice for parents) and send a short excerpt to a more well known site. If the owner likes it, they will be more than happy to use your post. You’ll gain reputation and a link to your site.
3) Choose 2-3 methods of online money making method. Perhaps your adventures in parenting site will be a platform for you to form counseling/consulting opportunities. Perhaps your target audience are moms so an affiliate shopping products might be worthy to think about. Often we just rely on google adsense without thinking through our options.
4) Jumpstart your site by offering a freebie. I know you used this method with the recipe. Consider doing one for your online content. It could be an e-book, a guide, a prize or anything. It certainly drives a lot of traffic and obtain in-coming links.
Those are a few observations I’ve made reading so far. Would love to talk to you more about it when you have time.
