Imagine no waiting to get on the Pirates of the Carribean ride, walking right into Astro Blaster, and no lines in the women’s bathroom at Disneyland! And all that for FREE!
That was my birthday present on the 25th of January.
First, the free part – My husband and I volunteered to chaperone Amy’s school band on their field trip to perform at Disneyland. The price of free admission was being at the school by 6:30am, supervising the students before and after their performance until 11:30am, being at the designated spot for 45 minutes in case a student has an emergency, and leaving at 8:00pm.
We didn’t mind those restrictions. We would’ve wanted to be there to watch Amy perform anyway. Even though we normally like to stay at Disneyland till closing time, we were more than ready to leave by 8pm because our legs were aching (due to old age!) and we already went on all the rides we wanted to go on.
Now, the reason for no lines at the rides – 40% chance of rain was predicted. Even though it was a Friday, the rain prediction probably scared away all the visitors and season ticket holders. However, there was NO RAIN at Disneyland! There was a little drizzle for about 10 minutes. Apart from that the rest of the day was clear, blue sky, and just about perfect. I am sure it was because it was my birthday 🙂
Each year for the past 4 years, we would go to Disneyland when Audrey performed with her high school band there. Now that Audrey is in no longer in high school, Amy gave us the reason to go. And get this – she is only in 7th grade…we will have many more years at Disneyland if Amy continues with the band.
