I’ve read many of Rex Stout‘s Nero Wolfe series.
I got this book from the library, Her Forbidden Knight, mistakenly thinking that it was part of the Nero Wolfe detective series.
This turned out to be a cute romance, set in New York back in the days when telegrams existed, chivalry existed, and handshakes after a date existed. It’s an old-fashion story where men protect the honor of a woman, and the woman wants to be protected.
I like Stout’s style of writing. It’s subtle, weaving the storyline slowly, without giving away the story till the end. (Although I read the ending first…)
