In fact, it&#8217;s a sturdy hardback probably about the same size  as my Bible.<\/p>\n<p>Each day&#8217;s devotion begins with a short passage to read <a href=\"https:\/\/katylee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Charles-Stanley-Book-Cover.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1382\" title=\"Charles Stanley Book Cover\" src=\"https:\/\/katylee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/Charles-Stanley-Book-Cover.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a>from the  Bible. A key verse follows that highlights the main idea for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Then  comes half to three-quarter page of instructions from Charles Stanley.  His writing is to the point, easy to read, yet profound; I&#8217;ve always  enjoyed his books. The day&#8217;s devotion ends with a one to two line  prayer.<\/p>\n<p><em>I Lift Up My Soul<\/em> is similar to any other daily devotional  guide. As with any daily devotional guide, it&#8217;s an aid to maintaining a  disciplined quiet time in God&#8217;s Word but does not give much depth of  Bible study.\u00a0<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Disclosure:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasnelson.com\/consumer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Nelson <\/a>provided me with a complimentary copy  of this book for this review.
