Elliot called this morning: “I lost my glasses.”
\nHis prescription is 4.75 on each eye. He said he can still see the computer screen – with his face 2 inches from the monitor. <\/p>\n
Did you search your room? Yes, for 1 1\/2 hours.
\nDid you have people help you since you can’t see? Yes, my roommate helped.
\nDid you look in the trash? Yes, I asked for the janitor’s help.
\nDid you check lost and found? Did you ask everyone on your floor? Did you ask your RA for help?
\nYes, yes, yes, yes, yes….<\/p>\n
I called Kaiser Permanente to make sure they have his records before I drive there to order him a new pair. It would take minimum a week. How can he squint enough to see enough for a week! <\/p>\n
At Kaiser’s reception desk, I told the girl the situation.
\n“Were you the one who called?”
\n“Yes.”
\n“Is this your son’s medical record number?”
\n“No.”
\n“Oh, there was someone else who called with the exact same situation.”
\n“Good, my son is not the only absent minded one. I will just go pick out a frame while you get his records.”
\n“Do you work in ER?”
\n“No, do I look familiar?”
\n“No, but the person with the same situation said exactly the same thing.”<\/p>\n
Well, Elliot. There it is, someone else lost his glasses exactly the same day as you. <\/p>\n
I spent 10 minutes looking for a frame, and just sat down to put in Elliot’s order, my cell phone rings.<\/p>\n
“Mom, I found my glasses. It slipped under my bed.”<\/p>\n
Praise God! God timed it just right, not a minute too late.<\/p>\n
