We called 2 different Best Buy stores to ask for availability of Nintendogs for Amy’s Nintendo DS (She has a Christmas gift card).<\/p>\n
I was on hold for 20 minutes with the store in West Covina before someone answered the phone. They didn’t have it.<\/p>\n
The store in City of Industry did not answer at all. I was on hold for 27 minutes (timer on my phone) before I gave up. I called again later in the day, on hold for 20 minutes, and hung up.<\/p>\n
I had the phone on speaker and was doing something else, so it didn’t waste any of my time. But I wonder why Best Buy bother having a phone at all. Does management know their phones are not being answered? Do they care?<\/p>\n
Their phone message opens with, “Thank you for calling Best Buy. We appreciate your business and support.”<\/p>\n
I don’t think I can give them any more business and support if I can’t find out what they have. Their inventory and selection is so scant that I don’t want to waste a trip unless I know they have what I want.<\/p>\n
Is there a deep lesson in this? Perhaps life is like being on hold…or life is like waiting for someone to answer the phone…or life is like having a phone but not answering it…or life is like having a gift card to spend but it doesn’t have what you want…or life is like being to make good use of your time while another part of your life is on hold on speaker…or life is like looking for a game that no store carries…or life is like searching for the one game that will truly satisfy you…I could write a book on this…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
