{"id":3,"date":"2004-03-26T10:56:53","date_gmt":"2004-03-26T18:56:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.katylee.com\/blog\/?p=3"},"modified":"2004-03-26T10:56:53","modified_gmt":"2004-03-26T18:56:53","slug":"one-of-my-favorites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/katylee.com\/blog\/2004\/03\/26\/one-of-my-favorites\/","title":{"rendered":"One of my favorites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most people do not read the Old Testament because they think it&#8217;s hard to understand. <\/p>\n<p>Habakkuk is an example of a book in the Bible that few are familiar with, but it is rich with promises from God.<br \/>\nHabakuk was a prophet to Israelites during a difficult period. The Israelites repeatedly disobeyed God. In Habakkuk 1:1-4, Habakkuk gives a description of the state of the country: violence, injustice, strife and conflict abound, the wicked hem in the righteous. It was not a nice place to live, to say the least. <\/p>\n<p>At the end of Habakkuk&#8217;s book is my favorite: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Though the fig tree does not bud<br \/>\nand there are no grapes on the vines,<br \/>\nthough the olive crop fails<br \/>\nand the fields produce no food,<br \/>\nthough there are no sheep in the pen<br \/>\nand no cattle in the stalls,<br \/>\nYET I WILL REJOICE INT HE LORD,<br \/>\nI WILL BE JOYFUL IN GOD MY SAVIOR.<br \/>\nThe Soveriegn Lord is my strength;<br \/>\nhe makes my feet like the feet of a deer,<br \/>\nhe enables me to go on the heights.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the worst scenerio, when nothing is going right, I can be joyful.<br \/>\nHe is my Savior, He gives me strength.<br \/>\nWhat more do I need.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most people do not read the Old Testament because they think it&#8217;s hard to understand.
