When we left the house, my mother-in-law also went out at the same time. She wanted to walk to the swapmeet at the high school a little over a mile away. We drove about 35 miles to USC, had breakfast with Elliot at the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ivtcf.net\/\">Intervarsity Trojan Christian Fellowship<\/a> group, and drove 35 miles back. We got home within a minute of my mother-in-law.<\/p>\n<p>Mike and I traveled all the way across the city. We talked to a lot of new people, saw the crowds at USC going to a popular football game (we didn&#8217;t go, but Elliot did) in a big city. My mother-in-law only got 1 mile away from home, walked around the swapmeet at the parking lot of a high school and bought 2 pineapples and plums.<\/p>\n<p>It seemed like it should have taken more time for us to accomplish all that we did at such a distance then for my mother-in-law to do what she did.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t know why, but that just struck me as interesting.<br \/>\nCan you help me analyze why something is not right about that?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This comparison struck me today.
