Safe! It looks like all the baby hamsters are alive! Everyone moved out of the small igloo and into the bigger and luxurious nest that I thought was dad’s new house for himself. I realized I didn’t give them enough materials to build, so I’ve been giving them more napkin pieces to shred. Now they have a house as big as the one I dumped out when I cleaned out the cage 5 days ago. Well, I guess Dusty is a pretty good dad afterall. I thought he was selfishly getting a more comfortable house for himself. <\/p>\n
Audrey was able to count 7 babies in the new house. I guess the one that was left there yesterday just moved in early. The babies are growing in size and starting to turn grayish brown. I just saw a baby got dragged out of the nest again, but this time, after wiggling and scooting, he\/she fell back in the nest, with a little help from Dusty’s paw. In just a matter of 4 days, they are getting to be more self-sufficient. <\/p>\n
With all the excitement of the new hamsters I’ve forgotten to talk about my very fun Sunday afternoon, spent with Amy at Mission San Juan Capistrano. She has to do a report on a Mission, she picked San Juan Capistrano because it’s not too far, and not too close. We picked the perfect day with sunshine yet not hot. I recorded Amy while she narrated the tour, well, not exactly a tour. She just gave a brief description of each place of interest. <\/p>\n
Would you think spending an afternoon at an old Mission with a 9-year-old would be boring? It was not one bit! We talked about whatever was on our minds, shared our opinions on what we were viewing, enjoyed a delicous Mexican lunch (my favorite), and came home with a sovenir and postcards, and of course, heart-warming memories. <\/p>\n
