Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family “released a statement Tuesday<\/a> detailing his personal opposition to McCain, saying if McCain is the nominee, he will sit this one out.”<\/p>\n

“I cannot, and will not, vote for Sen. John McCain, as a matter of conscience.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Since Dobson will not support Clinton or Obama, he will not cast a ballot for the presidency in the general election if John McCain does in fact become the Republican candidate.<\/p>\n

What do you think of that?<\/p>\n

I raised my kids on Dr. Dobson’s wise advise on his radio program. The resources for the family at Focus on the Family<\/a> is invaluable.<\/p>\n

But on this point, I disagree with him.<\/p>\n

I think it would be a mistake not to vote<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Voting is not a matter of conscience.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Voting is choosing among the candidates<\/strong> who would be best for that office. You are not saying the one you vote for will be the best president. You are choosing from a slate of available candidates.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it may mean voting for the one who will cause less harm.<\/p>\n

Suppose Hitler was running for office against the anti-Christ, would I vote?<\/p>\n

Yes, I would.<\/p>\n

It would be my duty to choose the lesser of two evils in order to prevent the more evil one from prevailing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If I do not vote, I am not speaking up against the anti-Christ, the devil. At least Hitler is less sneaky and after a few years he will die. But the anti-Christ will wield more power and cause much more devastation.<\/p>\n

Ok, that example might be a little far-fetched…<\/p>\n

But then again, a choice between McCain and Obama or Clinton…might come pretty close, haha!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
