Bonnie gave me the bulbs for my birthday, and they are blooming already! I love the simplicity and the feeling of smoothness of tulips. I have a picture of tulips in our dining room in the background of this picture.
USC beat Cal 7-0!
The weather was great as we sat in the stands of “center court” to watch the singles matches on Saturday. Boy, those guys are buff :) But I was surprised that they do not rush up to the net. They rally from the back court like women’s tennis. (Don’t mistake that to mean they play like girls…) There seems to be a big jump in the level of play from college to professional men’s tennis.
Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, was reminded one day of a vicious deed that someone had done to her years before. But she acted as if she had never even heard of the incident.
“Don’t you remember it?†her friend asked.
“No,†came Barton’s reply, “I distinctly remember forgetting it.â€
No one in my family is a football fan, but I should at least know who is playing and who won.
I watched parts of the 3rd and 4th quarters, and the final few minutes of the game. I actually enjoy watching football as well as other professional sports. I got that from my brother. But watching about 30 minutes of the last half of any sport is enough for me.
