The Game is the first book I’ve read by Laurie King.
What drew me to this book was the crime fighting couple – Sherlock Holmes and his wife and partner Mary Russell. Yes, Sherlock Holmes is married! I guess Sherlock Holmes is a public domain figure now.

Following Dave‘s example, I am going to set a few goals for myself.
It would be impossible for me to set 50 goals to be accomplished before I turn 50!
So how about 5 before I turn 50?
If I can complete these 5 goals by January 25th, 2009, I will be really happy!
To make a long story short, here’s what happend:
We bought a camera from Best Buy for $179.
Two week later, we saw it at Staples on sale for $149.
I take my receipt and the Staples ad to Best Buy to get a refund on the difference based on their price guarantee.

A Statement from Fred Thompson

Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.
Fred Thompson, from what I understand, is the only true conservative candidate, true in the sense of down the line Republican conservative. He stands for small government, free market with limited government regulations, personal responsibility without government handouts, etc. I pretty much agree with everything he says.
Everyone seems to be remodeling their kitchen and bathrooms recently.
It would be nice to do that if money was no issue.
But you don’t have to make a major change like that to make your house look better.
Just changing a few lighting fixtures will make a difference in the way your house looks.
Today was a dry run of what it will be like in 6 years, when all 3 of my children will be over 18.
Mike and I had the day to ourselves, just the 2 of us, while our kids are at various retreats with church and school.
Have you ever noticed my User Name on this blog? My husband commented that my user name, Joyful, is a really nice expression.
Let me tell you how I came up with that name.
