In the book of Numbers, chapter 11, the Israelites were complaining that they didn’t have meat to eat. The Lord told Moses that he will indeed give the people meat to eat, not for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, but for a whole month. Moses was incredulous. Where in the world can he get enough meat for six hundred thousand men plus women and children for a whole month?

Of course I love my church.
I’ve been there for 17 years.
I’ve stayed with it through thick and thin.
It’s like my family.
But I suddenly realize today that I don’t love my church as described in ICorinthians 13.
If the truth be known: I am impatient whenever there is Chinese translation. I am…
People will agree that the most important things in life are not possessions. On top of the list of what we value are family and health, isn’t that right?
When I think of the problems we are facing, I encourage myself by remembering that I have a wonderful family, and I still have my health.
si·ne qua non – something absolutely indispensable or essential
Jesus is si·ne qua non to Christianity. If you take out Jesus, Christianity would not exist. Christianity is based on a person, not on teachings.
I like that. It brings us back to the basics. My salvation is not based on following Jesus’ teachings, but in following Jesus a person.
Greg Koukl said as an apologist, the toughest question he’s been asked is:
“Do you remember me?”
Haha…:)
Egg hunt, dye eggs, baskets of prizes and candy…I did Easter activities with the kids at church today.
While I’ve had less desire to work directly with the children as I’ve gotten older, I really enjoyed them today.
Highlights:
“Everyone come give me a hug and line up to go outside!” I called. The mob…
A great hymn for the Easter weekend.
Words and music by William J. Gaither
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
Yesterday, I turned off the computer from 11:30-3:00, as a spiritual discipline.
Even though I am not always on the computer, I have a tendency to turn to the computer in my spare time – to read blogs, read the news, read articles on my favorite websites, search for interesting clips on Youtube, etc. Once in a while I might even get a forward on my email worth reading.
Do you remember anything your professor taught in school?
Dr. Bing Hunter said something in his lecture that I have remembered for the last 20+ years.
He held up a blackboard eraser (in the old days, we used blackboard and chalk) and put it directly in front of his eyes.
“How could they let their hamster have more babies? They should be more responsible pet owners!”
I know many of you are thinking that since you read my last post.
Let me explain and vindicate myself.
Did you know that hamsters go into heat within 24 hours after giving birth? I know, it’s…just not right…but that’s God’s design for those little critters.
