At the 98 cents or more store, Audrey spotted this ice cream scoop, apparently for gangsters. Look closely at the yellow starburst on the label. It says, “Bullet Proof Plastic.”

Just what I need! In case the ice cream gets attacked, the scoop will save the ice cream for safe consumption. Or if I get shot at while scooping ice cream, I would pose some awesome kungfu moves, HIYA!, deflect bullets with a scoop in each hand! Or you can wear several scoops on strategic places and they can save your life!

All for only 98 cents.

Jump!

On Monday, I went with Audrey and her 2 friends, Nicolette and Emmeline, to Little Tokyo.
Our adventure began with taking the Metrolink from Walnut to downtown Union Station. How nice it was not to have to drive. The train was smooth, fast, and convenient.
Union Station is like an airport with signs and tunnels to various Gates. We caught the Dash that took us to within 2 blocks of Little Tokyo. The bus drivers were extremely courteous and helpful. I was very impressed.
Pictured here are the girls playing around this object d’art. We enjoy simple pleasures.

Chicken Little

Have you seen Chicken Little, the Disney movie version?

There is a place in Walnut that rents DVDs for $1 a day. On Tuesdays, it’s only 49 cents! Mike rented Chicken Little for 49 cents.

It is a cute movie with some life lessons:

Don’t assume something can’t happen just because you think it can’t happen.

A true friend believes in you.

A true friend sticks by you even when the rest of the world is against you.

There is always a cute side to every situation if you look for it.

Can’t beat a 49 cent movie.

When the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines; when the olive trees do not produce, and the fields yield no crops; when the sheep disappear from the pen,and there are no cattle in the stalls, I will rejoice because of the Lord; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me. The sovereign Lord is my source of strength. He gives me the agility of a deer; he enables me to negotiate the rugged terrain. Habakkuk 3:17-18

In the worst case scenerio, when there is nothing to hold on to, yet, the Lord is there. He is my source of strength, he will deliver me, he will give me the ability to go through the rugged terrain.

Don’t you love that?

Get Smart dvd set of all 5 seasons. It’s a hilarious show. – I decided I don’t want to own them. They are fun to watch, but I wouldn’t want to watch them over and over…Maybe if I can just borrow them for a week.

Corny jokes

Amy told me these jokes yesterday. I still laugh at these old jokes!!

Patient: Doctor, will I be able to play the piano when I get well?

Doctor: Sure you will.

Patient: Great! I was never able to play before.

🙂

How do you know carrots are good for your eyes?

Well, have you ever seen a rabbit wear glasses?

🙂

Nurse: How is the patient who swallowed a quarter?

Doctor: No change yet!

My outside-the-home job is real estate. As a real estate agent, the best part of the job is meeting nice people.

Last week, my friend/client introduced me to his co-worker to help him buy a house. He is a very nice young man. He told me he is the youngest of five children – the youngest boy with four older sisters. When his mother was pregnant with him, she prepared some chinese medicine that would induce miscarriage. She wanted to abort him. At the last moment, she poured the medicine down the drain and carried the baby to full-term.

Imagine what she would have missed, what their family would have missed, what my friend who works with him would have missed, what I would have missed, what the world would have missed, if he was aborted. Abortion has killed a whole generation of fantastic people, who like this young man, could have brought joy to people around him.

I was also blessed to have met the retired couple who are selling the house that this young man will be purchasing. With over twenty years in real estate, this is maybe the second time that the sellera of the house we are touring offered us refreshments. We drank ice tea, chatted with them about the house, their move, etc. We almost stayed for dinner!

While every job has its difficulties, meeting nice people is certainly the highlight of my work that keeps me going.

The flu

The fifth grade classes in Amy’s school has been suffering from flu-go-round. Almost every child is getting a turn.

Amy’s class had 8 students out sick. Her friend Casey’s class had 15 students absent on one day! That’s got to be a record of some sort.

Amy was among the casulty. It started with fever, then coughing and runny nose. She was sick for a total of 5 days with 3 days absent from school.
Now Audrey is sick. Her fever just started last night. I hope she recovers quickly because it’s not so easy to catch up on schoolwork when you are in 11th grade, especially in the IB program. Apparently, the high schoolers are also playing ful-go-round. It’s no fun.

Insanity

Insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.

– Albert Einstein.

I certainly have this insane mindset. What makes me think things in my life will be different if I do not change?

What in your life do you want to be different? What will you change to make it happen?
